The Merkins | Halfway To Halloween (2024)
The Merkins is an extremely fun yet silly, horror-themed YouTube channel. Back when the channel was in its prime, it hosted countless videos of people – dressed up as horror icons including Pinhead and Hannibal Lecter – singing songs and performing dance routines for music videos. The highlight of the channel was a yearly video by a mock Boy Band called “The Slashstreet Boys” – a parody of the Backstreet Boys featuring Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Ghostface and Leatherface. Sadly, many of the videos have now disappeared, presumably due to copyright strikes and strict Yoube policies.
One such video (which I can no longer find on their YouTube channel but is fortunately still available on Facebook here) was titled “Halfway to Halloween”. This video features Emo Mike; an ‘Emo’ version of Micheal Myers.
