BETA'S DEMISE

The Walking Dead is a TV show based on a comic series of the same name where a band of survivors, led by local sheriff Rick Grimes, attempt to outlast a Zombie apocalypse. Throughout the narrative they encounter other groups of survivors – some of them good and others, not so much. One standout group they encounter are known as The Whisperers and they have adopted a bizarrely unique survival strategy. You see, where most people would do the obvious thing of trying to avoid those pesky undead bity things that want to eat your flesh, The Whisperers actively seek them out and go walking around as one of them, getting lost in hordes, wearing the skin cut from massacred Zombie foes to look and smell like the rotting horrors, moving slowly, only communicating with eerie whispers – it’s a bit like a more serious take of Bill Murray’s ‘just blend in’ approach in the Zombie comedy movie Zombieland.

Seeing as one of my cosplay characters is Beta (second in command of The Whisperer group), me and Drew – the leader of Nightmare Fuel – decided to attempt to recreate his gory death scene. Of course, we had only a very limited budget and could only wrangle a handful of Zombies but the result, I think, is pretty spectacular.
